She could imagine an empty room just as easily as she could imagine one with her girlfriend waiting for her. She might have expected Bebe to have her feet kicked up on the coffee table while she read a book, she might have expected dinner to be waiting for her on the counter as a lovely surprise, hell, she might have even expected a bouquet of flowers and balloons to celebrate nothing in particular. That, she could make sense of. Any one of those things would have had a logical context for her to pick up on. They would have been followable. They would have had some sort of basis in a reality she understood. What Holly did not expect, and would not have expected in a million years, was to find a large blue sphere in the middle of her living room.
